Proposal Project Due Tuesday Dec. 11th 2018
For your proposal project, you will present with ONE partner a dish of your choice that you would like to see introduced into our imaginary cafeteria. The dish can be a appetizer, a side, a snack, a main, a dessert, or a drink. You will not be expected to include a recipe. You will however, be expected to disclose your ingredients. In your proposal you are trying to convince the judges that your dish is the best healthy and delicious choice to add to our cafeteria's menu. You can choose a dish that is usually seen as unhealthy, but you can put your healthy spin on it.
I can include:
- Ingredient list (using French vocab)
- Use vocab from unit to communicate the type of dish (appetizer, side, snack, main, desert, drink etc) and how it follows the food restrictions within the school AND classroom.
- Opinion X 2 can be expressed about the proposed change and on school food in general (should use BOTH positive and negative statements)
- Suggest (x 2) a healthy addition to the school menu
- a minimum of 4 adjectives to describe my dish
- Need to follow up with these ideas (because- parce que)
-1-2 paragraphs long
- Use recipes from cookbooks or online to get inspiration for your proposed dish
- Your dish needs to follow food restrictions (no nuts, seafood, bananas, kiwis) Using vocab we learned in class to talk about restrictions
- Your dish can be created using the following: blender, microwaves, toaster oven, grill
- Keep in mind multiculturalism, popularity, presentation and healthiness of your dish
- Presentations will start on Tuesday Dec. 11th 2018 in class. You can present your proposal in the form of a traditional presentation, you can have bristol boards/posters, video or other format (please just let Mme know ahead of time)

Nov. 20 lesson- irregular adjectives
Today you will be doing a review of adjectives, with a focus on irregular verbs.
Remember that an adjective describes a noun (person, place, thing), and in French, depending on whether the adjective is regular or irregular, it will determine whether the adjective goes BEFORE or AFTER the noun. So how can you tell? You need to use the BATON acronym to help you out. If the adjective falls under one of the BATON categories, it means it must go BEFORE the noun. If not, then after the noun. Another important thing that must be kept in mind when working with adjectives is that the adjective needs to link to the noun. To do this we need to make an accord between the two. How can this be done? You need to make sure that the adjective fits the noun in regards to gender (masculin or feminine) and number (singular/plural).
Now to dive deeper into our lesson
1. I've included for your review a powerpoint on BATON- please go over it and complete the questions at the end of it.
2. I've also included a few links to videos below that explain in more detail and with examples our concepts, please review them.
3. Once you think you have the hang of the concepts, create 5 sentences related to food for example healthy or not, food quality or service from around the world, think about some of the different things we've talked about in our unit so far. Be creative! In the 5 sentences have at least one adjective that fits with the accord to the noun in your sentence.
4. If time is still left over, you can go onto quia.com (link on home page) use your login (supply teacher will have all logins and passwords) and play some of the ADJECTIVE games I've left for you to try.
We will review all concepts when I return, but if you have questions before then you can email me through the contact page below the home page drop down.

Un nouvel ami
Michelle : Salut. Tu es nouveau dans le quartier?
Hunter : Oui, ma famille vient de déménager de Kugluktuk. C’est un village au Nunavut.
Michelle : Waouh! Le Nunavut est loin. Tu t’habitues ici?
À Kugluktuk, on commençait à 9 h 10.
Michelle : Formidable! À lundi!
