Natalie au quebec
Natalie au Québec is the first theme we see in grade 6. In this theme Natalie Tanaki, a 12 year old Vancouver girl travels to Québec. Students will focus on language comprehension strategies they may have already been introduced to in grades 4 and 5 and apply these in a more conscious way. They identify problems Natalie might have as she spends two weeks living with the Tremblay family and attending school in French. They discover strategies Natalie uses to speak, understand, pronounce and read french, and they practise using the same strategies in a variety of communicative situations. Finally, they are led to consider how these strategies might be useful to them as they learn French in class.
The Gr.6 class wil be working on a unit called Natalie au
Quebec.They will be:

Final Project
Students will be working on a family project for class. They will need to say all the members of their family in French, their name and for extra marks, something interesting about them.
Students should have sentence structures like the examples below. Pictures whether hand drawn, or actually taken would also be great for visuals.
Students are permitted to create their projects using any medium. Whether it's on a bristol board, scrapbook, movie, powerpoint/prezi presentation, the options are truly endless!
Students will be given ample amount of time during class hours to work on their project.
